PARTNERS
ENEA TEMAF
ENEA TEMAF operates in Faenza since 1994, and carries out research, development and engineering activities in the sector of advanced ceramic materials and composites for applications concerning the production and recovery of energy and the sectors of transport, aerospace, biomedical, and agribusiness, chemical industry, construction and manufacturing. Taking advantage of a background on new materials for the nuclear sector, ENEA TEMAF started focusing on R&D activities on ceramic thermo-structural materials, related engineering technologies and the mechanical qualification in simulated working conditions. ENEA TEMAF has a long experience in coordinating project devoted to the development and validation of Polymeric Matrix Composites (e.g. www.C2CC-project.eu, www.fenice-composite.eu) for mass applications in the automotive. ENEA TEMAF is also equipped with personnel and equipment for mechanical characterisations (which are usually performed after accelerated ageing) and pilot plants for the production of composite components and their semifinished materials.

ROMAGNA TECH
Romagna Tech is an Industrial Research Laboratory and an Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre within the Emilia-Romagna High Technology Network. It has twenty years of experience in technology transfer and the dissemination of research results at national and European level. Specialised and transversal competences allow to approach the dissemination activity with a focus on the active participation of companies and on the application potential of research results. The consolidated partnership between the staff of Romagna Tech and the laboratories involved will be fundamental for a continuous coordination between the research and development phase and the dissemination phase. Romagna Tech in BRILLIANT will play a strategic role in the dissemination of research results by ceramic sector, but also extending to other supply chains, in order to promote horizontal knowledge transfer (cross-sectoral approach), as recommended by the regional S3.

INDUSTRIAL PARTNERS
NALUCOAT
Nalucoat Srl Societa’ Benefit (www.nalucoat.it) is an innovative start-up company created in March 2023 with the aim of applying NANOPROM technologies to the functionalisation of aluminium surfaces and films, and exploting them into innovative products manufacturing, using only processes and materials with an advantage in terms of ecology and sustainability. One of Nalucoat main interest fields is in the automotive and car interior sectors, where it aims to achieve the so-called “chromium-free finishing”, of high environmental and social value. In terms of role in Brilliant project, it will be closely linked to the study of aluminium films in protection of bio-based composite components, and therefore it will works closely with NANOPROM, CROSSFIRE and BLACKS.
CURTI INDUSTRIES
Curti Costruzioni Meccaniche SpA (www.curti.com) is a national leader in the recycling of composite materials. The company is active in the recycling of composite materials by pyrolysis and wood gasification. Curti is interested in the development of pyrolysis or gasification technologies for end-of-life or defective and end-of-life bio-based composite materials and the natural fabric waste. Curti is also interested in the industrial production of biochar for use in fertiliser and composting industry: char obtained from fully bio-based composites is called “biochar” and can be used in agriculture.
CROSSFIRE
CROSSFIRE (www. crossfire-srl.com) is active in the development of sustainable composite materials for mass production, as well as in the development and supply of the related semi-finished products. Therefore, it is in the interest of the Company to participate into BRILLIANT activities not only as a supplier of materials and services, but also by actively contributing to the development of composite materials for mass production, but by actively contributing to the development of know-how, the combination of its proprietary resins with natural fibres or their integration into multi-material systems.
TAMPIERI ENERGIE
TAMPIERI ENERGIE is the division of the Tampieri Group (www.tampieri.com) that deals with the energetic (electric and/or thermal) use of biomass, which implies a great interest in the subject of BRILLIANT project and biobased composites, both in term of raw materials, their applications and their end of life. It is in the interest of the Company to participate into BRILLIANT activities as a supplier of materials (biomass feedstocks).
BLACKS Advanced Composites
BLACKS S.r.l. (www.blacks-composites.it) is a Tier One supplier of composite components to the automotive and motorsport industries, with up to 10% of its business already based on biobased materials (that is reinforced with natural fibres).
Until now, these applications have so far only involved epoxy-based resins, making it of difficult ‘recyclability and compostability’ of natural fibres at the end of life.
So the company is supporting BRILLIANT project activities to improve the sustainability of composite system and also to overcome current limitations in humid environments
Therefore, it is in the interest of the Company to participate into BRILLIANT activities as and user of developed biobased composites and finishing treatments.
